The concept of "Medicine" was based around the consequences of substance abuse; how does substance abuse affect users and those around them?

"Kaleidoscope Heart" addresses racial equality and diversity, emphasizing that each person is unique in their own way. As Sara Bareilles expresses, it doesn't matter what a person looks like on the outside - inside, they are have a kaleidoscope of individual experiences and emotions that make them who they are.

"She Used to be Mine" comments on the effects that social media has on women's body image. Social media sets unrealistic standards of beauty for both women and men. Many people, especially teenagers, are constantly exposed to idealized images on many different social media platforms, and are persuaded to believe that what they see on their screens is real.
